Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. seeks a Sr. System Safety Engineer to support the B-2 program across Palmdale, CA, Melbourne, FL, Rancho Bernardo, CA or OKC, OK.

Responsible for system safety products per MIL-STD-882, performing hazard analyses and preparing critical safety documentation for major flight systems. You will mentor safety engineers, interface with a DoD customer, and contribute to the safety case through FHA, PHA, SSHA, SHA, FTA, and related analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 9+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience with MIL-STD-882 or ARP4754 safety programs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance or higher.
• Experience interfacing with military customers or safety counterparts.

Responsibilities

• Identify, classify, adjudicate, and manage hazards in a closed-loop tracking system.
• Coordinate across IPTs to support hazard and safety requirement adjudication.
• Communicate safety risk to appropriate levels and document SARs and CSIs.
• Prepare SRR, PDR, and CDR packages documenting hazards and safety requirements.
• Flow down derived safety requirements to IPTs and deliver CDRL items.
