Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Senior System Safety Engineer to lead safety programs and perform hazard analyses across diverse DoD systems. You will develop deliverables, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with safety requirements while driving mitigations to reduce risk.

You will work with a team handling SSPP, PHA, SSHA, SHA, SAR, EOD analyses, safety certifications, and test evaluations, contributing to a mission-critical safety culture.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in system safety.
• Experience in MIL-STD-882 safety analyses or system safety program implementation.
• Experience obtaining lithium battery certifications.
• Ability to analyze, research, assess, and organize technical data into cohesive and clear technical reports and presentations.
• Ability to organize, schedule, and facilitate technical meetings and working groups.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Science field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage junior staff in executing safety tasks and provide mentorship to increase their expertise and capabilities.
• Lead system safety programs or tasks on DoW system programs.
• Identify and assess system safety hazards and inform mitigations to reduce warfighter risk.
• Review client system safety artifacts to verify compliance with requirements, policy, and guidance documents.
