Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration in the U.S. is seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer, System Safety (26-372) to join a mission-critical team based in Colorado Springs or Huntsville.

The role focuses on delivering safety across C2BMC capabilities for national defense with on-site work and a Secret clearance. You will develop safety plans, perform hazard analyses, mentor staff, and coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure safe, reliable system performance in

Qualifications

• Active US Secret security clearance required at start.
• 8+ years in systems engineering, or 6+ with Master’s.
• Experience with system safety assessments and hazard analysis.
• Ability to document safety analyses and present to diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of MIL-STD-882E and compliant safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems safety engineering activities for C2BMC capabilities.
• Develop and maintain program system safety plans.
• Integrate safety across product lines from concept to fielding.
• Review engineering products to ensure safety requirements.
• Mentor less-experienced engineers in safety techniques.
• Coordinate with teams to verify safety requirements.
