Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a System Safety and Reliability Engineer to support the Core Avionics group on the Lunar Permanence program. You will develop FHA, FMECAs and reliability models for avionics hardware, collaborate with NASA and partners, and influence safety requirements across vehicle systems.

The role emphasizes leadership, documentation, and adherence to MIL-STD-882/SAE ARP-4761 safety standards, with relocation support and occasional travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree or equivalent in engineering or related technical field.
• 2+ years in system safety and mission assurance (FMECAs, FTAs, FHAs).
• 5+ years in development of electronic hardware.

Responsibilities

• Develop FHA, FMECAs, and reliability predictions for avionics hardware.
• Support Fault Tree Analyses, Hazard Sheets, CCA, ASA, and HAZOP.
• Ensure traceability between subsystems, requirements, and safety artifacts.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Systems Engineers to ensure safety product commonality.
