Blue Origin LLC in Washington state seeks a senior avionics hardware engineer to own the full lifecycle of complex hardware products, from architecture to sustainment. You will lead cross-disciplinary teams across electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing domains.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, risk reduction, and collaboration with suppliers and internal programs to deliver affordable, safe spaceflight hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of avionics hardware design and validation experience.
• Experience owning complex hardware through full development lifecycle.
• Experience with flight computers, embedded controllers, FPGA, and power electronics.
• Proven ability to lead complex hardware troubleshooting and cross-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development and delivery of avionics hardware products, establishing architecture, requirements, interfaces, verification, and production readiness.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership through design, build, integration, verification, qualification, production, and sustainment; balance performance, safety, cost, and manufacturability.
• Lead hardware test and anomaly-resolution, including bench troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, risk assessment, and verification.
• Serve as primary technical integrator across electrical hardware, mechanical packaging, embedded software, FPGA, controls, and manufacturing.
• Mentor engineers, lead technical reviews, and drive product/process improvements to quality and mission success.
