Job summary

AeroVect is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to drive hardware safety across autonomous platforms. You will perform quantitative analyses, derive safety requirements, and collaborate with software, robotics, hardware, and test teams to ensure robust safety lifecycles for vehicle autonomy.

You will work under senior mentorship in a fast-paced environment, applying FMEDA methods, FMEDA workflows, and industry standards to support safety cases for airport deployment and commercial operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on safety engineering experience in autonomous vehicles, automotive, aerospace, or industrial safety.
• Experience working with autonomous driving systems or mobile robotics.
• Proven ability to work under mentorship in a high-velocity agile engineering team.
• Mastery of hardware safety concepts and diagnostic strategies.

Responsibilities

• Perform Quantitative Hardware Safety Analyses, including FMEDA and PMHF.
• Calculate failure rates using standard methodologies (SN 29500, IEC 61709, MIL-HDBK-217).
• Evaluate drive-by-wire compute hardware, sensors, actuators, and power distribution for faults.
• Derive Hardware Safety Requirements (HSRs) for redundant architectures and fail-operational compute nodes.
