Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on safety engineering experience in autonomous vehicles or aerospace/industrial domains.
• Experience with ISO 26262, DO-178C/DO-254, or IEC 61508 safety lifecycles.
• Background with autonomous driving systems or mobile robotics.
• Ability to work under mentorship of Principal Safety Engineer in a fast-paced agile team.
• BS or MS in CS, EE, Systems Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
• 5+ years of software development or SW safety in C++, Python, or ROS/ROS2.
• Experience analyzing autonomous vehicle software pipelines (perception, planning, fail-safe state machines).

Responsibilities

• Perform hazard identification and risk assessments across software and hardware.
• Derive software safety requirements and safety cases.
• Review safety-critical code and robotics middleware for safety standards.
• Develop Safety Performance Indicators to measure safety over time.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety requirements.
