Job summary

AeroVect is transforming ground handling with autonomous safety excellence. We seek a Senior Safety Engineer to lead hardware safety analyses, derive safety requirements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across software, robotics, and hardware for safe, scalable autonomous operations.

You will perform FMEDA, PMHF metrics, and component failure-rate modeling to ensure reliability and safety across our autonomous platform and embedded compute architectures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on safety engineering in autonomous vehicles or related domains.
• 5+ years in hardware safety engineering, reliability, or failure rate modeling.
• Background in autonomous driving systems or mobile robotics.
• Ability to work under the mentorship of a Principal Safety Engineer in a fast-paced agile team.
• Degree in CS, Electrical Engineering, Systems, Robotics, or related field.
• Proficiency with FIT rate modeling and FMEDA workflows.
• Deep knowledge of ISO 26262-5 hardware metrics.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantitative hardware safety analyses, including FMEDA and PMHF.
• Calculate hardware component and system failure rates using standard methods.
• Evaluate drive-by-wire compute hardware, sensors, actuators, and power systems for single-point and latent faults.
• Derive hardware safety requirements for redundant architectures and fail-operational nodes.
