Job summary

AeroVect is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to lead hardware safety analysis and safety case work for autonomous platforms. You will perform FMEDA, PMHF, and failure rate modeling, derive HSRs, and collaborate with systems, software, robotics, and hardware teams to ensure verifiable safety across the stack.

Strong background in ISO 26262, DO-178C/DO-254, and related safety standards is required, with 5+ years in hardware safety or automotive/industrial domains.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on safety engineering experience in autonomous vehicles, automotive, aerospace, or industrial safety.
• 5+ years in hardware safety engineering, EE reliability, or failure rate modeling.
• Prior background working with autonomous driving systems or mobile robotics.
• Proven ability to work under the technical mentorship of a Principal Safety Engineer in a fast-paced agile team.
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Robotics, or a related discipline.
• Mastery of FIT rate modeling, component failure rate calculation methods, and FMEDA workflows.
• ISO 26262-5 Mastery: Deep knowledge of hardware architectural metrics and diagnostic strategies.

Responsibilities

• Perform Quantitative Hardware Safety Analyses including FMEDA and PMHF.
• Derive Hardware Safety Requirements for redundant architectures and fail-operational nodes.
• Collaborate with systems, software, robotics, hardware, and test teams to ensure safety requirements are verifiable.
• Support safety case artifacts and verification evidence for deployment.
