Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal System Administrator to support classified DoD programs. You will administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux, leverage virtualization and container tools (VMware, Kubernetes, Horizon, ESXi) and work with cybersecurity teams to maintain secure, compliant environments.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years of relevant experience, an engineering degree or higher, and the ability to obtain interim DoD clearance. Relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to obtain interim DoD security clearance prior to start.
• 5+ years of relevant experience or a related advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in Linux or Windows server environments and related tooling.
• Experience with Active Directory, VMware, MySQL, and networking administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide system administration in a heterogeneous Red Hat 8/9 Linux environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex infrastructure challenges.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory security frameworks (DFARS, RMF, NIST).
• Maintain secure configurations, hardening, and automation for provisioning and patching.
