Job summary

S1 Technology seeks a System Administrator in Lafayette, LA to lead hands-on server and network configuration, security hardening, and cloud activations for new environments. You will translate business needs into practical technical tasks and drive projects to completion.

Expect end-to-end ownership: plan, document architectures and SOPs, coordinate with sales and vendors, and ensure secure, reliable systems.

Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Extensive background in system and network administration.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft 365 Admin (Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Hybrid Identity).
• Strong networking fundamentals and experience managing switches/routers/firewalls/VLANs.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery.
• Scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams; ability to explain complex tech in plain language.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute technical projects including server and network configuration, user setup, security hardening, and cloud activation.
• Create projects, scopes of work, BOMs, and pre-project tasks.
• Own project timelines, coordinate with sales, account management and vendors.
• Translate business needs into project plans and tasks, ensure config, testing, and documentation for smooth handoff to MSP.
• Run project status check-ins, identify risks, adjust scope or timelines.
• Create and maintain project onboarding documentation, network diagrams, asset lists, SOPs.
• Identify opportunities to improve security, reliability, and user experience; recommend upgrades.
• Standardize onboarding and project processes for faster, smoother client experiences.
