Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior System Administrator Team Lead to drive a high-performing engineering squad in Alexandria, VA. You will guide tasks, review work, and lead migration of on-premise infrastructure to a secure hybrid cloud, ensuring systems meet performance and security goals.

The role requires DoD-focused expertise, Linux server administration, and leadership of 5+ engineers. On-site office presence in Alexandria is expected, with strong emphasis on security best practices.

Qualifications

• US Citizen with active Secret clearance or higher.
• 12+ years in system administration on Linux servers and networking equipment.
• 6+ years managing a DoD mission-critical IT system and the team that supports them.
• 3+ years leading a team of 5+ engineers/administrators.
• Experience deploying and maintaining physical servers.
• Experience with patch management and security audits.
• DoD 8570 IAT level I compliant.

Responsibilities

• Manage tasks and sub-task assignments to team members.
• Lead bi-weekly team meetings.
• Track status of team tasks.
• Provide technical reviews of team member's work.
• Lead migration of on-premise infrastructure to hybrid cloud solution.
• Participate in design discussions to improve capabilities, performance and security.
• Provide OS to application level troubleshooting support.
• Install and maintain Linux servers.
• Manage networking equipment including switches, routers and firewalls.
• Configure and monitor core enclave services (DHCP, DNS, mail, Apache, Tomcat, Atlassian, MariaDB).
• Configure and monitor security tools required for DoD networks.
