Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead System Administrator in the Hampton Roads, VA area to lead a team responsible for provisioning, configuring, and maintaining enterprise infrastructure. The role emphasizes security compliance, automation, and high availability of critical networks.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of system administration experience, DoD Secret clearance, and DoD 8570.01‑M IAT II certs, with certifications like AZ-900 and Network+.

Qualifications

• Citizenship: Must be a United States Citizen.
• Security Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
• Certification: Must hold a current DoD 8570.01‑M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification (e.g., Solutions: Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security, GSEC, or SSCP). As well as the current AZ-900 and Network+ certifications.
• Location: Hampton Roads area, VA (on-site or hybrid as required by operational parameters).
• Experience: Minimum of 3‑5 years of progressive experience in system administration, managing enterprise infrastructure, server operating systems (Windows/Linux), or virtualized environments.

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Maintenance & Operations: Administer, monitor, and maintain servers, OS, and storage to ensure uptime.
• Security & Compliance: Apply STIGs and align with RMF for security posture.
• Vulnerability Management: Regular scans, patching, remediation, and mitigation of threats.
• Automation & Configuration Management: Develop and implement automated scripts/workflows using PowerShell, Ansible, Jenkins.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Oversee enterprise backup/recovery procedures and failover testing.
• Technical Support & Documentation: Provide Tier III support and maintain SOPs and topology docs.
