Job summary

Raycap Inc. in Charleston, SC, seeks a Switchboard Engineer to design low voltage switchboards and panelboards with meticulous attention to safety standards (NEC, UL, and others).

You will create 3D sheet metal parts, assemble 150+ item BOMs, and drive the design through its lifecycle, while mentoring junior engineers as needed. The role requires strong CAD skills (Autodesk), proficiency with 2D drawings and wiring diagrams, and clear communication across engineering, manufacturing, and

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar.
• 4-8 years of professional experience (UL891 OEM or Equivalent).
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (Autodesk Suite preferred).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products.

Responsibilities

• Design 3D sheet metal parts with flat patterns.
• Complete 3D Assemblies (150+ Item BOM).
• Follow design life cycle states and design standards.
• Create wiring diagrams using PLCs, breaker accessories, relays, contractors, power supplies, etc.
• Create and understand 2D Front View, One-Line/Single-Line and Layout drawings using CAD Software.
• Ensure clear communication between Engineering, Manufacturing and other key stakeholders.
• Work in a team environment to analyze requirements from clients and develop design solutions.
• Ensure clear communication with suppliers/vendors on an as-needed basis.
