Job summary

LJA Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Sr Survey Technician to advance boundary surveying projects. You will prepare metes and bounds descriptions, compile data for topographic maps, and stake construction using engineering plans, working with a team across offices.

This role requires 8+ years of survey experience, proficiency with CADD and Microsoft Office, and strong written and oral communication to build client relationships. TxDOT experience is a plus; Right Away experience is valued.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of survey experience.
• CADD experience required; TxDOT experience a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients.
• Right Away experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares metes and bounds descriptions for boundary surveying projects, exhibits and various mapping products.
• Gathers data used for creation of topographical maps.
• Compile information necessary to stake projects for construction using engineering plans.
• Compare survey computations with applicable standards to determine data adequacy.
• Collect information needed to carry out new surveys from source maps, prior data, photos, and computer records.
• Prepare topographic and contour maps of land, including site features and survey notes.
