Position Overview

As a Sr Survey Technician at LJA Surveying, you will be responsible for preparing metes and bounds descriptions for boundary surveying projects, exhibits, and various mapping products.

A Typical Day Might Include

• Preparing metes and bounds descriptions for boundary surveying projects, exhibits, and various mapping products
• Gathering data used for creation of topographical maps
• Compiling information necessary to stake projects for construction using engineering plans
• Comparing survey computations with applicable standards to determine adequacy of data
• Collecting information needed to carry out new surveys, using source maps, previous survey data, photographs, computer records, and other relevant information
• Preparing topographic and contour maps of land surveyed, including site features and other relevant information such as charts, drawings, and survey notes

Required Education / License / Certifications

• Surveyor-in-Training certification by the Texas Board of Land Surveying, or
• Level II Certified Survey Technician certification

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of survey experience
• Project scheduling
• CADD experience required; TxDOT experience a plus
• Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients
