As a Survey Technician at LJA Surveying, you will prepare metes and bounds descriptions for boundary surveying projects and produce surveying exhibits and mapping products.

Responsibilities

• Gather data used for creation of topographical maps.
• Compile information necessary to stake projects for construction using engineering plans.
• Compare survey computations with applicable standards to determine adequacy of data.
• Collect information needed to carry out new surveys, using source maps, previous survey data, photographs, computer records and other relevant information.
• Prepare topographic and contour maps of land surveyed, including site features and other relevant information such as charts, drawings, and survey notes.

Required Education / Certifications

• Surveyor‑in‑Training certification by Texas Board of Land Surveying.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of survey experience.
• CADD experience (required) and TxDOT experience (plus).
• Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients.
