Job summary

Impact Recruitment in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to join our client's team. The role leads survey crews, performs topographic, construction staking, boundary and control surveys, using both conventional and GPS techniques.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, with an Associate's degree preferred, and at least 5 years of surveying experience. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation/OpenRoads, GPS/LiDAR and Microsoft Office is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years surveying experience.
• Background in survey, right of way, site development, transportation, construction staking.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation/OpenRoads/InRoads, GPS/LiDAR.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; strong problem-solving and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading survey crews performing topographic, construction staking, boundary and control surveys using conventional and GPS techniques.
• Managing survey projects and meeting deadlines and budgets.
• Performing office computations and supporting field crews for construction staking.
• Providing analysis and final map checking and record drawings research.
• Conducting QA/QC of engineering parcels and route survey plats.
• Establishing and maintaining quality control procedures on survey operations.
• Verifying accuracy of survey data and calculations at sites.
