Job summary

Providence Covenant Medical Center seeks a Surgical Technologist to maintain a sterile field and support the surgical team. Responsibilities include passing instruments, sutures, and sponges, serving as second scrub or first assistant as needed, and aiding the RN with circulating duties.

Ideal candidates have formal surgical technology education, NBSTSA and NCCT certifications (upon hire), current BLS, and at least 3 years of certified surgical tech experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• National Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) upon hire.
• National Tech in Surgery - Certified (NCCT) upon hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
• 3 years of Experience as a certified surgical technician.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the operating room sterile field and passes instruments, sutures, and sponges during surgery.
• Assists as second scrub and/or first assistant as needed.
• Assists the registered nurse with circulating duties and aseptic technique.
