University of Michigan in Ann Arbor is seeking a Senior Surgical Technologist/Surgical Technologist (Underfill) to support the operative team with sterile equipment, instrument passing, and turnover duties. The role includes inventory, sterilization, and assisting with equipment preparation for procedures.

Ideal candidates have a minimum of 3 years as a Surgical Technologist and demonstrate strong teamwork, reliability, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Certification or completion of an equivalent Surgical Technology training program.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Must be highly motivated and organized.
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Commitment to contributing to a positive department culture.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions.
• Physical requirements include standing/walking, lifting and transferring patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team by preparing sterile equipment.
• Pass instruments, sponges, and sutures to the operating team.
• Help with inventory and sterilization of instruments.
• Prepare and select equipment for procedures.
• Transfer patients as needed; turnovers to CSPD/Decontamination.
• Put equipment back in place after procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
