University of Michigan in Ann Arbor is seeking a Senior Surgical Technologist/Surgical Technologist (Underfill) to support the operative team with sterile equipment, instrument passing, and turnover duties. The role includes inventory, sterilization, and assisting with equipment preparation for procedures.
Ideal candidates have a minimum of 3 years as a Surgical Technologist and demonstrate strong teamwork, reliability, and organizational skills.

To assist surgical team during operative procedures by preparing sterile equipment for the operation and passing instruments, sponges and sutures to the operating team. Assist with inventory, sterilization of instruments, prepare and select equipment for procedures, transfer of patients as needed, turnover and transfer of instruments to CSPD/Decontamination and putting equipment back in place. Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule for the Day/Eve

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
