Job summary

University of Michigan is seeking a Senior Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team with sterile equipment preparation and instrument passing. The role may be underfilled depending on candidate qualifications, with responsibilities spanning instrument handling and patient transfers.

Hybrid/mobile/remote work options are at the department's discretion, and the schedule includes Day/Eve shifts with on-call, weekend, and holiday obligations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certification or satisfactory completion of an equivalent Surgical Technology training program
• Highly motivated and organized
• Good interpersonal/team skills
• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Surgical Technologist

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team during operative procedures by preparing sterile equipment for the operation.
• Pass instruments, sponges and sutures to the operating team.
• Assist with inventory and sterilization of instruments.
• Prepare and select equipment for procedures and transfer of patients as needed.
• Turnover and transfer of instruments to CSPD/Decontamination and put equipment back in place.
