Job summary

UNC Rex Healthcare in Cary, NC seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for the Rex Cary OR Services. This full-time role supports sterile technique in both the operating room and ambulatory settings, with day shifts and no on-call weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher-level Surgical Technology training preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or military training in Surgical Technology.
• CST certification preferred or eligible (The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or TS-C).

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains sterile field and ensures sterile environment.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of instrumentations and sterile technique.
• Prepares Operating Room with instrumentation, equipment and supplies.
• Passes instruments correctly and performs counts per policy.
• Maintains competence across pediatric to geriatric patient care.
• Adheres to ASC policies, procedures, and patient safety goals.
• Assists in staff development and precepts less experienced Technologists.
• Anticipates needs of the surgical team and handles multispecialty cases.
