Job summary

Munson Healthcare is seeking a Senior Scheduler in Traverse City, MI to coordinate surgery scheduling, pre-op activities, and related tests for patients and families. You will work with staff and providers to ensure timely and accurate workflows.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma; an associate degree is preferred, or 5 years of relevant scheduling experience in healthcare. The role emphasizes attention to detail, communication, and efficient use of scheduling tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associates degree in business, accounting, medical office management, medical administration, secretarial science, health services administration, or related degree preferred.
• In lieu of an Associate’s Degree, candidate must have 5 years’ experience in a highly demanding, customer driven fast-paced, professional work environment with acute attention to detail, prioritizing and resolving a high volume of scheduling needs, preferably in a health care environment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgery, pre-op physicals, and testing in a timely manner with patients, families, staff and providers.
• Ensure prior authorizations are completed as required for surgical procedures.
• Document to support accurate billing (insurance verification, prior authorization, etc.).
• Oversee the scheduling process from start to finish and keep tools complete and up to date.
