Job summary

HonorHealth is seeking a SR Scheduler-Surgical in Scottsdale to serve as the first contact for scheduling high-level medical, radiology and surgical procedures. The role supports preoperative education, data collection, and coordination with physicians, anesthesia, and staff to ensure smooth operations.

The successful candidate will handle pre-registration, insurance verification, and scheduling logistics while maintaining accurate documentation and a strong focus on patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates in related healthcare field preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge with OR/central supply preferred.
• 1 year scheduling/clerical experience with ICD-10, CPT coding.
• 2–3 years scheduling experience in healthcare preferred.
• Other operating room experience preferred.
• Data entry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules surgeries and high level procedures per physician privileges.
• Verifies information and ensures accurate charging for services.
• Registers patients and gathers demographic, medical and financial data.
• Obtains prior approvals for preoperative testing and insurance coverage.
• Pre-registers accounts 24-48 hours before admission.
• Coordinates with departments and anesthesia for scheduling.
• Runs daily reports for management needs.
