You will gather demographic, medical and financial data, verify insurance and obtain preoperative approvals to support efficient, compliant patient care.

The role supports multiple departments, prepares patients for preop classes, coordinates operating room needs with physicians and anesthesia, and assists in posting charges

Qualifications

• 1 year of healthcare scheduling/clerical experience.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Understanding of health care plan requirements.
• Excellent customer service and data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Schedules surgeries and high level procedures with physician privileges and block times.
• Registers patients and collects demographic, medical and financial information.
• Obtains prior authorizations and verifies payor requirements.
• Coordinates preoperative education and testing appointments.
• Runs daily reports and ensures accurate charging and documentation.
