Job summary

AECOM is seeking a motivated and technically strong Surface Senior Mining Engineer I to join our Mining team across North America. You will collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and discipline leads to develop practical engineering solutions for mining clients, contributing from early studies through detailed engineering and construction support.

The role requires solid technical knowledge, strong engineering judgment, and the ability to manage multiple assignments while building

Qualifications

• BS in Mining Engineering or related field. 4+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• EIT certification or progression toward PE is an asset.
• Open pit mining planning, production scheduling, and equipment selection experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support mine access planning and mining method selection, development strategies, and supporting infrastructure.
• Assist with open pit mine design, phase planning, and optimization for safe/resource-efficient extraction.
• Perform waste dump and haul road design, fleet evaluation, and equipment analysis.
• Develop mine schedules and production plans under senior guidance.
