Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer II to provide technical leadership across North America on complex mining projects. You will support from early studies to construction, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical solutions for open pit design and production optimization.

The role requires strong engineering judgment, ability to manage multiple projects, and travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Mining Engineering or related field required.
• 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency.
• Experience with prefeasibility and feasibility studies preferred.
• Experience with open pit design and mine scheduling is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead mining projects from early studies through detailed engineering and construction support.
• Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Develop practical engineering solutions for open pit design and planning.
• Evaluate haulage systems, fleet needs and equipment strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations and design packages.
• Coordinate with mining, civil, geotechnical and other engineering disciplines.
• Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
