Job summary

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Senior Civil Engineer and project manager to support surface mining and heavy civil infrastructure design and analysis as part of the Mining Division. The candidate will have demonstrated broad experience in supporting large civil projects, surface mining operations, and design.

Qualifications

BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
Professional Engineer (PE) License.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
Master’s OR PhD in Civil Engineering preferred.
10+ years of relevant experience preferred.
MSHA Miner training preferred.
Ability to obtain CO PE license within 6 months.
Project management certification (PMP) preferred.
Progressive civil design, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, and stormwater experience.

Responsibilities

Provide technical input and lead studies and design in civil infrastructure for mining projects.
Lead project teams and coordinate with clients on civil design, investigations, and water management.
Develop proposals to grow the Mining practice and mentor staff.
Review engineering reports, supervise calculation packages, and ensure quality.
Coordinate with agencies for permit preparation and ensure schedule adherence.
Produce construction-level drawings including grading and drainage plans.
