Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Project Geotechnical Engineer and project manager to support surface mining, mine waste storage and heavy civil infrastructure design and analysis as part of the mining division.

The candidate will bring broad experience in surface mining operations and the design, management and evaluation of waste rock storage, heap and run of mine leaching and tailings storage facilities. The role includes leadership of multidisciplinary teams and client engagement.

Qualifications

BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License

Responsibilities

Provides project leadership in the areas of civil design, investigation, analysis, water management for mine waste facilities and multi-disciplinary mining projects.
Serve as lead engineer or discipline lead on mid- to large size projects.
May be responsible for project teams that include 5 or more members often representing multiple disciplines including subcontractor(s)
Work with existing and potential clients to provide civil engineering and design solutions for mine sites.
Develop project proposals and work with mining business leader to support and grow the Mining practice.
Provide direction to and mentoring to other technical staff in completing project tasks.
Performs independent technical reviews of engineering reports and design and signs off on work.
Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering project, focusing on the civil design, geotechnical design and stormwater management of mine waste storage projects.
Provide advice and consultation to clients on engineering matters, including compliance with government laws and regulations.
