Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to develop and implement quality assurance programs across major projects. You will work with engineering and manufacturing to ensure compliance with standards and regulations, and lead supplier risk management efforts onsite.

The role emphasizes analysis, audits, and driving corrective actions while collaborating with suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies to uphold product quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or related discipline.
• Five+ years with bachelor's or three+ years with master's.
• Detailed understanding of inspection methods.
• Analytical ability to solve complex quality issues.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Willingness to work extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform risk analysis of assigned suppliers and develop risk mitigation plans.
• Conduct supplier assessments as part of onboarding or QA programs.
• Review product compliance documentation and validate requirements.
• Validate procurement quality requirements with suppliers.
• Manage SCAR process to ensure containment and root cause resolution.
• Identify design or manufacturing changes to improve quality and reduce costs.
• Develop and implement inspection and testing procedures for products and equipment.
• Audit supplier quality management systems and drive corrective actions.
• Interface with suppliers, customers, and regulators; deliver technical presentations.
