Job summary

Form Energy is seeking a Senior Supplier Engineer, Structural Components to drive the transfer of heavy-gauge structural assemblies to suppliers, leading DFMed designs and manufacturing feasibility reviews. You will qualify welds, develop supplier relationships, and advance QML/PPAP processes to ensure robust manufacturing and cost-effective production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in supplier quality, industrialization, or manufacturing engineering, focused on heavy-gauge structural steel and large welded assemblies.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Welding, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Expertise in structural fabrication processes, heavy plate forming, laser/plasma cutting, and multi-pass welding.
• Strong knowledge of welding standards (AWS D1.1, ASME IX) and weld inspection methods (NDT/destructive).
• Understanding of GD&T applied to large, multi-part weldments; ability to lead supplier audits and root-cause investigations (8D, 5-Why).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design and Advanced Manufacturing to co-develop pack-level structural designs optimized for fabrication and integration.
• Lead DFM and APQP reviews with structural suppliers, focusing on welding feasibility and large-scale tolerances.
• Own the QML and PPAP roadmap; qualify WPS, PQR, and WPQ documents.
• Establish weld verification programs with suppliers; define NDT and destructive testing requirements.
• Identify and mitigate program schedule risks in heavy manufacturing, including long-lead steel mill runs and large-component shipping constraints.
• Drive closed-loop non-conformance management with SCARs and supplier RCA audits.
