Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group seeks a Senior Supplier Engineer, Structural Components to drive supplier industrialization for heavy-gauge assemblies. You will guide DFM/APQP reviews, qualify welding processes, and lead PPAP/SCAR activities with global suppliers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in supplier quality, industrialization, or manufacturing engineering for heavy-gauge structural steel and large welded assemblies.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Welding, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Expertise in structural fabrication: heavy plate/structural steel forming, laser/plasma cutting, multi-pass welding.
• Knowledge of welding standards AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX.
• Experience with weld inspection methods and qualification of WPS/PQR documents.
• Strong GD&T understanding for large weldments.
• Proven ability to manage supplier relationships, lead on-site audits, and conduct RCA.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design and Advanced Manufacturing to optimize pack-level structural designs.
• Lead DFM and APQP reviews with structural suppliers focusing on welding feasibility and tolerances.
• Own QML and PPAP roadmap and qualify WPS/PQR/WPQ.
• Partner with suppliers to establish weld verification programs and NDT methods.
• Identify and mitigate schedule risks from long-lead steel, crane handling, and shipping constraints.
• Manage non-conformance with SCARs and conduct RCA; verify CP plans via on-site audits.
