Job summary

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering or similar, required.
• 7+ years of meaningful work experience in a regulated industry (medical device preferred).
• Validated knowledge of component/assembly manufacturing process development and production validation.
• Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) required.
• Mechatronics and robotics experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of quality requirements/documents (SPC, capability analysis, FMEA, etc.).
• Understanding of Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFM/DFMA).
• Experience with supplier management, supplier qualification/selection, and process improvement with suppliers.
• Root cause analysis experience preferred.
• Six Sigma methodologies understanding preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of 21 CFR part 820 and ISO 13485.
• Regulatory knowledge for medical devices. up to 25% travel.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver development, characterization, and validation of plastics components and sub-assembly processes at suppliers for new product development and sustaining production.
• Lead scale-up of supplier manufacturing processes to production quantities.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to provide technical solutions optimized for manufacturing, performance, and cost.
• Apply engineering principles, manufacturing techniques, statistics, and risk management to solve complex challenges.
• Identify and manage external suppliers to satisfy tooling, manufacturing, and inspection requirements.
• Ensure robust requirements cascade from design to suppliers.
• Drive supplier performance using project management, Six Sigma, Lean, SPC, and negotiation.
