Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Senior Supplier Engineer in Santa Clara, CA, on-site. The role focuses on designing, developing, and validating manufacturing solutions for Direct Material components and assemblies, ensuring robust scale-up for long-term production.

You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to Robotic & Digital Solutions while collaborating with internal and external teams to optimize cost, performance, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of meaningful work experience in a regulated industry is required (medical device industry preferred).
• Understanding of manufacturing process characterization, development, and validation, required.
• Understanding of GD&T, required.
• Experience with supplier management and process improvement with suppliers, preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of 21 CFR part 820 and ISO 13485.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver development, characterization, and validation of components and sub-assembly processes at suppliers for new product development and sustaining production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize direct material component manufacturing and assembly processes for manufacturability, cost, and performance.
• Apply engineering principles and world-class manufacturing techniques to resolve technical challenges.
• Drive suppliers to improve their process performance using Six Sigma, Lean, SPC, and project management.
• Identify and direct external suppliers for tooling, manufacturing, and inspection needs.
• Support corrective actions and root-cause analysis for supplier processes.
