Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Robotics and Digital Solutions in Santa Clara, CA, is seeking a Senior Electrical R&D Engineer to design and develop advanced electrical systems for a world-class medical robotic platform. You will own power electronics, motor control, sensing, high-speed communications, redundancy, and networked systems from concept to commercialization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 4+ years or Master's with 2+ years in Electrical Engineering.
Experience designing electronic hardware using Altium Designer, with PI, SI, EMC knowledge.
Familiar with microcontrollers, BLDC motor control, SPI and I2C protocols.

Responsibilities

Own the full lifecycle development of PCAs: architecture, schematic, PCB layout, prototyping, verification, release.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop robust electrical solutions for sensing, motion, optical, and thermal subsystems.
Plan and execute component and subsystem verification: fixture tests, EMI/ESD evaluation, thermal analysis, debugging, design validation.
Drive innovation through hands-on prototyping, experimentation, and problem solving within multidisciplinary teams.
