Job summary

Neros Technologies in the United States is seeking a Sr. Supplier Development Engineer to join the newly formed Supply Chain team. You will work directly with the Director of Supply Chain to ramp up production and build the team to meet exploding demand.

The role focuses on supplier development, NPI builds, quality improvement, and capacity scaling, requiring broad knowledge of aerial systems and a hands-on approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or STEM discipline.
• 5 years of manufacturing, process or supply chain engineering experience.
• 5 years of experience with PCB assembly, mechanical assemblies or electronic assemblies manufacturing.
• Proven track record of taking ownership, successfully negotiating preferred pricing and driving results.
• Knowledge of supplier quality processes (PPAP, APQP, first article inspection, etc.).
• Experience with quality systems (ISO 9000/TS/AS9100/NADCAP).
• Knowledge of statistical techniques and methods, e.g., design of experiments, Six Sigma, etc.

Responsibilities

• DFM feedback to manufacturability and high-volume production transition.
• Break down complex design/testing specifications into structured process flows with critical control points and optimization opportunities.
• Conduct detailed capacity assessments at supplier sites including equipment throughput, labor efficiency, and line balancing for NPI and ramps.
• Collaborate with design engineers to gain in-depth knowledge of part, assembly, and subsystem design intents.
• Work with procurement to source parts matched with supplier competencies by reviewing supplier processes and quality systems.
• Lead liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve supplier quality issues.
• Define supplier technical and quality requirements for NPI and production phases.
• Create and implement a PPAP process with selected suppliers to enable rate production.
• Develop and approve process controls for critical characteristics.
• Analyze supplier quality and delivery metrics to identify trends and root causes to drive improvements.
