Job summary

Neros in Torrance, CA is hiring a Sr. Supplier Development Engineer to scale production and build a supplier development team. You will drive supplier development, NPI builds, production ramp-up, and ongoing quality improvements to support mass production ramps.

The ideal candidate has broad knowledge of aerial systems, ownership, and capability to tackle new challenges across supplier quality, manufacturing processes, and capacity planning. Equity grants are part of total compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or STEM is required.
• 5+ years manufacturing, process or supply chain engineering experience.
• 5+ years PCB assembly, mechanical assemblies or electronic assemblies manufacturing experience.
• Proven track record of ownership, negotiating preferred pricing and driving results.
• Knowledge of supplier quality processes (PPAP, APQP, FAI, etc.).
• Experience with quality systems (ISO 9000/TS/AS9100/NADCAP).
• Knowledge of statistical techniques and methods (DOE, Six Sigma).

Responsibilities

• DFM: analyze design specs and provide manufacturability feedback for high-volume production.
• Develop process flows, identify critical control points, risks, and optimization opportunities.
• Conduct capacity assessments at supplier sites for NPI and mass production ramps.
• Collaborate with design engineers to understand part, assembly, and sub-system design intent.
• Work with procurement to source parts matched to supplier competencies.
• Lead liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve supplier quality issues.
• Define supplier technical and quality requirements for NPI and production phases.
• Create and implement a PPAP with selected suppliers to enable rate production.
• Develop and approve process controls for critical characteristics.
• Analyze supplier quality and delivery metrics to identify trends and drive improvements.
