Shield AI is seeking a Senior Supplier Development Engineer to drive supplier development and quality improvements for machined parts in aerospace-focused operations. You will drive process improvements, audit supplier processes, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet cost, lead-time, and quality targets.

Responsibilities include root-cause analysis, on-site supplier audits, NPI support, and monitoring supplier performance with KPIs.

Qualifications

10+ years in supply chain or manufacturing engineering.
Experience in supplier development and quality engineering.
Proficient in CAD and data analysis.

Responsibilities

Process Improvement: Audit and embed supplier processes to improve cost, lead-times, and quality.
Quality Assurance: Conduct on-site audits to root cause supplier quality issues or performance challenges.
Supplier Development: Assess and improve supplier capabilities in line with engineering and operations.
Engineering Technical Support: Guide suppliers on part specs, manufacturing processes, and quality measures.
Supplier Performance Monitoring: Track delivery, quality, and cost; implement corrective actions and improvements.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure uninterrupted production.
New Product Introduction (NPI): Support supplier readiness during development.
