Job summary

Amprius Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Supplier Development Engineer to lead technical engagement with suppliers for advanced lithium-ion cell materials, components, and contract manufacturing.

You will qualify and develop suppliers, industrialize new processes, and drive launch readiness from NPI through volume production. The ideal candidate has strong battery manufacturing knowledge and hands-on supplier troubleshooting ability, with judgment in quality, process control, and scale-up

Qualifications

• Experience taking products or processes from NPI through qualification and ramp to volume production with external suppliers or contract manufacturers.
• Strong understanding of battery cell manufacturing processes or key battery components.
• Knowledge of quality and process control tools (PFMEA, SPC, MSA/GRR, DOE).
• Ability to analyze data, drive actionable improvement plans with suppliers.
• Travel up to 30–40% domestically and internationally.
• Experience audits against ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and/or AS9100.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier selection, qualification and development for battery materials, components and contract manufacturers.
• Drive supplier industrialization from process assessment through pilot, qualification and production ramp.
• Evaluate supplier capability, capacity and expansion plans to mitigate risk.
• Collaborate with suppliers to optimize process performance, yield, quality and manufacturability.
• Establish and approve APQP/PPAP, control plans, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, and process validation activities.
• Support IQC, IPQC and OQC systems at supplier sites to ensure robust incoming and in-process quality.
• Lead on-site supplier audits focused on capability and readiness.
• Manage root-cause analysis and corrective actions with suppliers (8D etc).
• Communicate risks, actions and progress to internal stakeholders.
