Job summary

Amprius Technologies in Fremont, CA is hiring a hands-on Manufacturing Process Engineer Staff level to own process parameters for cell-assembly stations and drive yield and throughput improvements on front-end and back-end lines. You will design DOE studies, qualify process windows, and release SOPs and control plans.

You will lead PFMEA, data collection, and cross-functional efforts with R&D and maintenance to sustain improvements and mentor technicians on the floor.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering; advanced degree a plus.
• 8+ years of process/manufacturing engineering in Li-ion cell production or precision manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with cell-assembly equipment (notching, slitting, stacking/winding, tab welding, pouch forming, sealing, electrolyte fill, degassing).
• Proven yield/throughput improvements from data analysis to implementation.

Responsibilities

• Own process parameters for assigned cell-assembly stations; develop recipes, windows, specs, and control plans.
• Design and run DOE studies to optimize yield, cycle time, and cell performance; release specifications and SOPs.
• Own first-pass yield and scrap; lead root-cause investigations and drive corrective actions.
