Job summary
Amprius is seeking a Battery Sales Application Engineer to translate customer needs into technical requirements and drive pack design, testing, and integration. You will work with leadership and customers to tailor solutions, perform design calculations, and coordinate BMS development.
The role blends engineering rigor with customer-facing strategy, with travel to partner sites as needed. The candidate should have 5+ years in related fields, strong data modeling skills, and hands-on
Qualifications
- BS/MS/ME in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science, Chemical or related STEM with 5+ years of experience.
- Understanding of Li-ion chemistry, charging profiles and safety protocols.
- Experience in battery, EV, aero/space, drone or consumer electronics sectors.
- Strong data analysis using Excel for performance modeling.
- Hands-on prototyping with CAD tools and manufacturing awareness.
- Experience with thermal-mechanical characterization and numerical modeling; Python/COMSOL/Pybamm is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Translate customer needs into technical requirements and assist pack design.
- Coordinate testing plans and track progress with labs and partners.
- Perform preliminary pack design calculations (voltage/capacity/layouts).
- Support BMS development and pack integration for customers.
- Document discrepancies and feed back to R&D and QA teams.
- Assist in data package preparation and cell-to-pack analyses.
