Job summary

The Federal Transit Administration’s Office of Chief Counsel seeks a Supervisory Attorney Advisor to lead Regional Counsels in litigation, grant administration, and environmental matters. You will implement policy, supervise teams, and coordinate with DOT and DOJ on complex matters.

The ideal candidate has a law degree, bar membership, and at least five years of attorney experience in federal law areas such as contracts, environmental, and civil rights.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen eligible for consideration.
• ABA-accredited law degree and bar membership in good standing.
• At least 5 years of professional attorney experience.
• Experience in government contracts, administrative procedure, grant agreements, real property, Federal ethics, environmental, safety, and civil rights law.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the work of Regional Counsels for FTA’s ten Regional Offices focusing on grant administration, administrative, contract and environmental law.
• Carry out directives and policy initiatives to ensure consistent legal interpretations across FTA regions.
• Manage environmental and historic preservation matters and coordinate regulations with related divisions and agencies.
• Represent FTA interests in complex federal litigation in coordination with the Secretary and Department of Justice.
• Serve as primary contact for DOT OIG on criminal matters, including qui tam actions and investigations.
