Job summary

The Federal Transit Administration’s Office of Chief Counsel is seeking a Supervisory Attorney Advisor to perform the duties of the Assistant Chief Counsel for Litigation and Regional Operations in a national federal context.

Ideal candidate will direct Regional Counsels, manage environmental and grant-related matters, and represent FTA in complex litigation, including qui tam actions, under close coordination with DOJ and DOT leadership.

Qualifications

• A law degree and bar membership in good standing; at least 5 years of attorney experience.
• Experience handling government contracts, administrative procedure, grant agreements, real property, ethics, environmental, safety and civil rights law.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for consideration required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise Regional Counsels on grant administration, including administrative, contract, and environmental law.
• Implement directives and policy initiatives across FTA regional offices for consistency in legal interpretations.
• Manage environmental and historic preservation matters and coordinate regulations with other agencies.
• Represent FTA in complex federal litigation in coordination with the DOJ and Secretary's Office.
• Serve as primary OIG contact on criminal matters, including qui tam actions and investigations.
