Job summary

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor, ABA‑accredited, bar in good standing, and at least 5 years of professional attorney experience.
• Experience in government contracts, administrative procedure, grant agreements, real property, Federal ethics, environmental, safety, and civil rights law.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for consideration.
• This is an Excepted Service position; may involve a two-year trial period.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the work of Regional Counsels for FTA’s ten Regional Offices on grant administration and related law.
• Carry out directives and policy initiatives to ensure consistent legal interpretations across FTA regions.
• Advise on environmental and historic preservation law and coordinate regulations with other agencies.
• Represent FTA in complex Federal litigation in coordination with DOJ and DOT leadership.
• Serve as primary point of contact for DOT OIG on criminal matters, including qui tam actions and investigations.
