Job summary

The Federal Transit Administration seeks a Supervisory Attorney Advisor to perform the duties of the Assistant Chief Counsel for Litigation and Regional Operations. You will supervise Regional Counsels across ten regional offices and provide legal guidance on grant administration, environmental law, and contract matters.

Ideal candidates have a law degree from an ABA-accredited school, are members in good standing of a U.S.

Qualifications

• Graduate law degree, bar in good standing, and at least 5 years of professional attorney experience.
• Experience in government contracts, administrative procedure, grant agreements, real property, and environmental law.
• Knowledge of transportation, environmental, and fiscal law precedents and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise Regional Counsels handling grant administration and related law.
• Implement directives from Chief Counsel and DOT leadership with consistent interpretations.
• Advise on environmental and historic preservation law in coordination with divisions and agencies.
• Represent FTA in complex federal litigation and coordinate with DOJ.
