Job summary

The Federal Transit Administration seeks a Supervisory Attorney Advisor to lead the Office of Chief Counsel for Litigation and Regional Operations. You will direct Regional Counsels handling grant administration, contracts, environmental law, and compliance across multiple offices.

The ideal candidate has substantial federal legal experience, bar admission, and the ability to coordinate with DOT leadership, DOJ, and other agencies on high‑level matters.

Qualifications

• Laws, regulations, and guidelines related to transportation, environmental, and fiscal law.
• Knowledge of administrative procedure, contracts, and grant administration.
• Experience with complex litigation and federal government practice.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise Regional Counsels across ten regional offices.
• Provide legal advice on grant administration, contracts, and environmental law.
• Implement directives from Chief Counsel and DOT leadership consistently.
• Represent the agency in complex federal litigation and coordinate with DOJ.
• Serve as main contact for DOT OIG on criminal matters.
