Job summary

City of Austin seeks a senior engineer supervisor to lead a project delivery team within the Project Design and Delivery branch. The role focuses on budgeting, policy implementation, and coordinating CIP projects to protect life and property from flooding and erosion.

The position requires a PE license in Texas or the ability to obtain within six months, with eight years of related experience including two in leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and eight years related experience.
• Two years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
• Knowledge of civil engineering concepts, budgeting, contracts, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical direction to internal and external customers.
• Manages, coordinates, implements, or monitors projects or programs, including plan reviews and permit implications.
• Develops, manages, and monitors project budgets and forecasts.
• Develops and implements SOPs, policies, codes, and ordinances to meet department goals.
• Reviews plans, specifications, change orders, and estimates; negotiates contracts as needed.
• Leads meetings with City Council, boards, commissions, and other agencies.
