Job summary

Amity Foundation in Susanville, CA seeks a Supervising Counselor to support program directors and supervise AOD staff within prison and re-entry initiatives. This role focuses on coaching, oversight, and ensuring compliance with ARMS documentation.

You will oversee six staff, monitor progress toward AOD certification, coordinate OMCP Mentors, and help maintain participant records while collaborating with CDCR partners and contracted staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years’ experience as a certified AOD Counselor at Counselor III level.
• Certified as an AOD Counselor by a DHCS-approved organization.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise approximately six AOD Counseling/Peer Navigator staff.
• Evaluate staff performance and provide coaching and training.
• Track and monitor Contractor staff performance with corrective measures as needed.
• Assess and monitor counseling staff progress towards AOD certification.
• Supervise orientation and intake processes for new participants.
• Approve and monitor relapse prevention/CBI action plan development.
• Track all participants and counselor assignments and progress.
• Provide training and monitoring of ARMS documentation for compliance.
• Coordinate OMCP Mentors and support certification process.
