The Senior Superintendent works alongside Project Operations and Field Management to foster strong client relationships, develop employees, and oversee the construction of safe, high-quality, profitable, and on-schedule renewable projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Builds and maintains a high-performing team through attracting, interviewing, assessing, mentoring, and retaining top talent.
- Provides on-site leadership, motivating team members to meet project goals, responsibilities, and milestones.
- Ensures regular site coverage across multiple sites, visiting each site weekly or daily as possible.
- Leads enforcement of safety policies, addressing non-compliance among all employees, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Executes projects using the Quality Management System, identifying patterns of rework and developing solutions to eliminate them.
- Performs or oversees project management tasks such as tracking progress, financial forecasting, document management, problem-solving, dispute resolution, design troubleshooting, and value engineering.
- Sets, communicates, and enforces production goals and schedules with subcontractors.
- Develops and ensures execution of the project schedule in collaboration with the Project Manager, including four-week lookahead schedules.
- Supports development of the Four Week Look Ahead schedule weekly and adheres to it.
- Manages project costs, implementing effective controls over subcontractors, materials, equipment, and expenditures.
- Trains the project team on planning, surveying, plan reading, productivity, efficiency, crew sizing, quality workmanship, and safety.
- Utilizes daily huddles and weekly check-ins to promote communication, resolve issues, and share ideas.
- Conducts regular quality checks and inspections of all activities and work performed.
- Reviews reports from Foremen and subcontractors for accuracy in hours, production, and activity summaries.
- Understands key terms of the Prime Contract and communicates deviations.
- Ensures subcontractors adhere to their agreements and company standards.
- This position is field-based at project sites.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of relevant construction industry experience with increasing responsibilities.
- Experience overseeing self-perform work with crews of 50+ craft persons and operators; prior experience as a Foreman or holding a Master Electrical License is a plus.
- Exceptional leadership skills to manage diverse teams.
- Proven success in leading complex construction projects with diverse scopes and tight timelines.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to mitigate difficult client relations.
- Expertise in various construction areas such as electrical, earthwork, utilities, structures, and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of OSHA Safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, teamwork, and time management skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Primavera P3/P6 software.
- Ability to travel or relocate temporarily to project sites across the US every 3-12 months.
- High school diploma or GED required.
